Two Months into the New U.S. Administration, The World at a Crossroad

The Schiller Institute is gathering leading spokesmen from the United States, Russia, China, Africa, Europe and the Americas for a dialogue March 20-21 on how to meet the existential crisis facing mankind today, with the idea of “peace through development.” Economist and statesman Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr. (1922-2019) fostered this approach, always looking ahead for at least “the next 50 years,” for what must be done collaboratively to unleash the creative potential of mankind to create a world worthy of the dignity of all. In the mid-20th century, he initiated to this purpose the ICLC—International Caucus of Labor Committees—which co-sponsors this event.

As of two months after the inauguration of Joe Biden as President of the United States, the world is faced with a multitude of crises. The pandemic continues; the famine is worsening, with the humanitarian emergency in Yemen at the point that 20 million people are on the verge of starvation. Yet the U.S. remains on a course of geopolitical confrontation against China and Russia, threatening outright war. All the while, the financial oligarchy, centered in the City of London and Wall Street, is trying to postpone the inevitable collapse of the trans-Atlantic monetarist system by money-pumping and “green finance” swindles associated with deadly Great Reset/Green New Deal policies for deindustrialization and cuts in food production, which mean genocide.

These crises can be overcome. China, and other Asian nations, have revived their ancient civilizations and combined them with an extremely optimistic perspective for the future based on scientific and technological innovation, and are open to collaboration. Unfortunately, the so-called “West” has plunged into a new Dark Age by adopting the most degenerate cultural practices—a policy of “everything goes”—combined with anti-development, population-reduction campaigns.

The only way the human species has any hope of escaping this existential crisis is by consciously initiating a Renaissance of classical culture and policy dialogue, in the tradition of universal history. Join the effort!
