The LaRouche Show March 12 Will Feature Live Interviews from Chile, Mexico on the Failure of Social Security Privatization
March 10, 2005 (EIRNS)—The weekly LaRouche Show will feature first-hand reports from Chile and Mexico, on the disaster that social security privatization has produced in those countries, on its Saturday, March 12 show, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. The Bush Administration is currently on an all-out offensive to impose the fascist Chilean model of pension privatization on the United States, in order to steal trillions of dollars from the Social Security Fund, in a desperate attempt to prop up Wall Street's imploding financial bubble.

Among this week's guests are Isabel Marquez Lizana, the Research Director of the Chilean government's Institute for Social Security Normalization (INP); and trade union leaders from Mexico, which in 1997 privatized its social security system for private sector workers (IMSS).
Mrs. Marquez is an internationally known expert on Chile's notorious social security privatization, which occurred in 1981 under the fascist Pinochet dictatorship. Her detailed study of the negative impact of Chile's privatization of social security was published in 2004. She is currently associated with the University of Chile, in Santiago.
In a February interview with EIR, Mrs. Marquez denounced the 1981 Pinochet privatization model, as a return to "social insecurity" and to a "pre-industrial era." In particular, she describes the "demagogic" role played by dictator Augusto Pinochet's Labor Minister, José Piñera, who was the architect of Chile's privatization, and who today is co-chair of the Cato Institute's "Project on Social Security Choice," a command center for the Bush/George Shultz Social Security scam.
On March 12, The LaRouche Show will give a full account of the lies, swindles, and record of impoverishment resulting from the privatization schemes imposed in Chile, and seven other nations in Ibero-America.
