David Horowitz, Too, Proposes Genocide
Oct. 19, 2006 (EIRNS)—In the wake of the scandalous proposal by Ayn Rand Institute leader Yaron Brook, made Oct. 16 at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA)—that the U.S. carry out mass murder of hundreds of thousands of Muslims in order to deal with extremism (see press release)—David Horowitz, one of the lead organizers of the right-wing witchhunt on American university campuses, agreed. Horowitz was speaking at the University of California at Santa Barbara on Oct. 18.
After his main address, dedicated to claiming that right-wing conservatives are the ones being oppressed in America, Horowitz was asked by LaRouche Youth Movement member Summer Shields whether he agreed with Brook.
Horowitz feigned ignorance of Brook, but effectively answered the question by launching into a defense of President Harry S Truman's dropping of nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki—an action which, as Lyndon LaRouche has repeatedly emphasized, was totally unjustifiable and had nothing to do with ongoing efforts to hasten the Japanese surrender.
In a follow-up question, Horowitz was asked whether he supports a nuclear strike on Iran. He left little question that he does, by launching into a diatribe accusing Iranian President Ahmadinejad for being a mini-Hitler, who should be taken out, even with the use of nuclear weapons.
Horowitz, a member of Lynne Cheney's circle of new McCarthyites on U.S. college campuses, and head of the a front group for campus witchhunts misnamed Students for Academic Freedom, thus showed how he sees "freedom": You can propose mass murder, but you can't criticize the fascist policies of the Bush Administration.
