Right Sector Threatens Kiev Regime: Cancel Minsk Agreement or Else
July 2, 2015 (EIRNS)—The Neo-Nazi Azov and Right Sector battalions are threatening that the regime in Kiev will fall if it doesn’t abandon the Feb. 12 Minsk cease-fire agreement and resume the war on the Donbass. The two groups are planning a protest on the Maidan for July 3 to make their demands clear, reports Sputnik, citing Ukraine’s UAPress (uapress.info).
The participants of the upcoming demonstration will demand new armament and equipment for all volunteer formations; a staff-reshuffle in the Defense Ministry; denunciation of all treaties with Russia; and the "just and immediate execution" of President Yanukovych-era "culprits." The Right Sector/Azov grouping warns,
"If the government does not begin to fulfill these demands right now, if it does not start to adequately react to the threats to the Ukrainian statehood, it will collapse very soon."
Separately, the anti-Maidan hacker collective CyberBerkut has published what it says is a report by a Ukrainian prosecutor which details how the neo-Nazi militias, along with elements of the Ukrainian Security Service, are little more than armed gangs engaged in widespread criminal activity, ranging from armed assault, to robbery, to kidnapping and murder, according to Sputnik. CyberBerkut reports the document demonstrates that these militias are so completely out of Kiev’s control that they operate with impunity, and feel themselves above the law and beyond any moral code. The Azov battalion, it should be noted, is among those supplying troops to be trained by the U.S. Army’s 173rd Airborne brigade, at a training range in Western Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the regime is acting to bring Ukraine closer to NATO. The parliament ratified an agreement on cooperation with NATO and the memorandum on cooperation in terms of consultation, control, communication, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance within the NATO’s "Partnership for Peace" program.
