Major Jump in Congressional Support for Releasing the 28 Pages
Jan. 9, 2016 (EIRNS)—No less than seven Congressmen, five of them Democrats, signed on to Rep. Walter Jones’ House Resolution 14 (H.Res.14) this week, the resolution which calls on Barack Obama to release the 28 suppressed pages of the 9/11 Joint Congressional Inquiry report, purported to reveal details of Saudi funding of that terrorist attack on American soil.
The surge brings the total number of sponsors to 36.
Jan. 7 was one year to the day after the bill was introduced at a press conference by cosponsors Reps. Jones, Thomas Massie, and Stephen Lynch, which featured former U.S. Senator Bob Graham and family members of the victims.
On Jan. 6, Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) signed on. On Jan. 8 he was joined by (in alphabetical order): Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.); Rep. Alan Loewenthal (D-Calif.); Rep. Jerry McNerney (D-Calif.); Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.); Rep. Dina Titus (D-Nev.); and Rep. David Trott (R-Mich.).
