German Justice Minister Maas Asserts Cologne Attacks Were Pre-planned
Jan. 11, 2016 (EIRNS)—Germany is being targetted for ethnic clashes using criminal milieu among both foreigners and native Germans, as agents provocateurs to get more violence going. EIR Founding Editor Lyndon LaRouche, in a preliminary assessment of the threat to Germany Jan. 5, said it would be found to be "a British imperial operation." Links are now beginning to be found.
In a Jan. 10 Bild am Sonntag interview, Federal Justice Minister Heiko Maas (SPD) stated on the New Year's Eve attacks, "No one can tell me that this was not inter-coordinated or pre-planned. We must urgently have intelligence on this." He also charged that the anti-immigrant party Alternativ für Deutschland (AfD) and racist group PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West) "seem have been waiting for this incident."
Der Spiegel notes in its Sunday report yesterday on the Maas interview that the police investigators have intelligence on the pre-planning of the Cologne New Year's Eve mob. Spiegel notes, "Such dark doings at mass events have taken place for years in North Africa, first being observed in Egypt. At the riots on the Tahrir Square in Cairo they led to worldwide horror. There had been numerous allegations that the Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt of Mohammed Morsi unleashed criminal gangs for attacks and mass rape against opposition demonstrators."
Preliminary police intelligence points to core groups of young street thieves and traffickers, often with police records, and largely from Algeria and Morocco, as being authors of the thefts and sexual molestation within the 1,000-man, drunken revelers at Cologne Central Station on Dec. 31/Jan. 1.
The Jan. 10 Focus weekly reported how crime groups outside of the city were brought into Cologne using social networks: The leads that the Cologne attacks were organized are adding up. Confidential police reports document that North African groups called upon their compatriots to come New Year's Eve to Cologne, from the region, but also from the Belgium, Netherlands, and France. By adding the sexual molestations of German women transitting the train station, the deployment controllers must have clearly known—and intended—the shock effect that that would have for provocateurs among the anti-foreigner likes such as PEGIDA.
On Sunday, Jan. 10, gangs of anti-immigrant thugs launched attacks on anybody looking like a foreigner in the area of the Cologne Central Station. According to today's Cologne Express a group of Rockers motorcycle gangs, soccer hooligans, and bouncers made arrangements over Facebook, in order to launch manhunts in the inner city. The predecessor to PEGIDA, Hooligans Against Salafists (HoGeSa) was directly modeled on the anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim English Defense League (EDL) alliance with soccer hooligans. A former head of the EDL, Tommy Thompson (a pseudonym) spoke at the Jan. 9 PEGIDA demo of 1,500 in Cologne playing off the News Year's Eve molestations.
On both sides, criminal networks are at the core of those used to escalate the tensions, which if not stopped could lead to wider and bloodier violence and a collapse of state authority and Weimarization. It is now up to German police and intelligence agencies, and any allies outside of the country, to find the controllers of the now ongoing destabilization, and publically name the names.
