Brazil Lower House Votes for Impeachment

April 17, 2016 (EIRNS)—In the midst of a cross between a roman circus and a rowdy soccer-game, Brazil’s lower house voted to impeach President Dilma Rousseff on Sunday night, by a strong majority. When the British-instigated impeachment operation reached its needed 342 votes, 127 had voted against impeachment, and 6 abstained. The jacobin mob scene on the floor of the Chamber was continuing when this briefing went to bed. The head of the governing PT party, Jose Guimaraes, told reporters shortly before the 342 threshold was reached that the fight now moves to the Senate.
