Patriots Mobilizing To Make JASTA Law
Sept. 27, 2016 (EIRNS)—The battle to pass the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) raged across the halls of Congress today, with LaRouche Political Action Committee (LPAC) organizers, members of the 9/11 families, and Congressional supporters of the bill putting fierce pressure on wavering members of Congress to stand firm against the White House, as well as Saudi and British blackmail. LPAC organizers spoke personally with dozens of members of the House and Senate, about the decisive strategic importance of overriding Obama’s veto. The mobilization by the families caught the attention of U.S. News and World Report, which linked to the "Response to the Message of the President Accompanying His Veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act" issued by the 9/11 families, available on passJasta.org.
Reports of wavering, or outright capitulation to Anglo-Saudi pressure were fed back to LaRouche PAC activists across the country who are organizing citizens and institutions to instruct Congress that the American people insist that JASTA become law. As of this writing, LPAC is holding a national call with all interested citizens to crossfire ideas and targets until victory is won.
Despite the letters from Pentagon and Joint Chiefs of Staff against JASTA, Congressional sources told LPAC that Rep. Bob Goodlatte, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, gave a strong presentation of the case for JASTA to the full House Republican Caucus on Tuesday morning, countering arguments from Rep. William Thornberry, chair of the Armed Services Committee, who is coordinating against JASTA with Obama and the Saudis.
Republican Sen. John Cornyn, co-sponsor of the JASTA bill with Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer, issued his own rebuttal on Tuesday to the lies coming from the Obama administration against JASTA. Including the statement that
"unless the U.S. sponsors or finances an act of international terrorism, we will not be affected by a reciprocal law passed by a foreign government."
Two of the strongest champions of JASTA and the declassification of the 28 pages on the Saudi role in 911 of the 2002 Joint Congressional Inquiry report, former Sen. Bob Graham (D) and North Carolina’s Rep. Walter Jones (R) issued statements on Tuesday in support of JASTA focused on the Saudi perfidy against the U.S. which JASTA will help expose.
Sen. Graham’s article in The Hill, "JASTA: Congress Should Override This Veto," told Congressmen and -women wanting more evidence of the Saudi role, to "demand the release of long withheld information," on Saudi deployments with the hijackers in Los Angeles and San Diego.
"As we look at events since 9/11, just what has the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] done? Has it abandoned its practice of supporting mosques and madrasas where intolerance and jihad are preached and a new generation of terrorists motivated and trained? Has it removed from its schools the textbooks which teach that all but Wahhabisists are perversions and should be exterminated? Has it stopped funding terrorist organizations outside Saudi Arabia?
"The Congress is called to render a final judgment on whether Americans will have their day in court and the opportunity to make the case before a jury of their peers that Saudi Arabia was a facilitator in the murders of 9/11. Let our legal system work. Let the truth be known,"
Graham wrote.
Rep. Jones, for his part, issued a call to his fellow Congressman, to ensure that JASTA is passed into law.
"My colleagues, Congressman Stephen Lynch and Congressman Thomas Massie, and I worked for over four years to declassify the 28 pages of the Joint Inquiry into the September 11 attacks. Those pages detail substantial financial support from Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan and his wife to individuals linked to the 9/11 hijackers. By vetoing JASTA, the president has chosen to side with the Saudi sponsors of 9/11 instead of the families of American victims. That’s wrong."
