Sen. Rand Paul Fears Calls for Jacobin Violence Could Lead to Assassination

Oct. 10, 2018 (EIRNS)—Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is warning that those Democrats who call on people to protest and “get in the faces” of Congressmen or Republicans, as occurred around last week’s confirmation hearings of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, could lead to an assassination.

In an interview with a Kentucky radio station, Paul expressed the fear that there

“is going to be an assassination.... I really worry that someone is going to be killed and that those who are ratcheting up the conversation ... they have to realize that they bear some responsibility if this elevates to violence.”

He continued that,

“I think what people need to realize is when people like Cory Booker say ‘get up in their face,’ he may think that’s OK. But what he doesn’t realize is that for about every 1,000 people who might want to get up in your face, one of them is going to be unstable enough to commit violence.”

Senator Paul himself has been a victim of violence, and as recently as last week, was chased and verbally harassed by anti-Kavanaugh protesters as he walked through Reagan National Airport, Fox News reported.

In a similar vein, Fox commentator Tucker Carlson warned on last night’s broadcast of the growth of what he called the “shock troops” that make up the “youth wing of the Democratic Party.” There appears to be a “threat of lawlessness from the left building in the country,” he said, reminding his audience of the instructions issued last June by California Democrat Maxine Waters—which she defended again last night on MSNBC—telling protesters to harass members of the Trump cabinet, wherever they find them. “Normal people are becoming concerned” about the growing violence in the country, Carlson noted, yet dailies like the Washington Post downplay the role of mob violence, claiming that those who don’t like “getting yelled at by rich white kids,”—which many of last week’s protesters were—are just “racists.”
