Sen. Rand Paul Wants To End Sanctions on Russian Lawmakers, If Moscow Acts Likewise

Sept. 26, 2018 (EIRNS)—Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced an amendment today in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, that would lift sanctions on members of Russia’s Federal Assembly, its bicameral legislature, if Moscow would act reciprocally and lift sanctions on certain U.S. Congressmen, the Daily Beast reported.

Returning from his trip to Moscow last month, Senator Paul has been urging that the U.S. and Russia engage in greater dialogue and cooperation, and asserted that sanctions really serve no useful purpose.
