Octogenarian Fujimori Returns to Prison, Affirms His Battle for Peru ‘Was Worth the Effort’

Jan. 26, 2019 (EIRNS)—Former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori, age 80, was sent back to prison on Jan. 23, to serve the last 13 years of an unjust 25-year sentence for his “crime” of having successfully led the fight to rescue Peru from the grip of the Shining Path narco-terrorists. A facsimile of the moving letter he wrote to his children is circulating on the internet, in which he tells them:

“I have been a prisoner for almost 12 years, and they are taking me back to jail. Is that not sufficient? To my children and my grandchildren, I say to them that the judgment of history will be more just with me than the judgment of my political enemies. And when all these injustices have ended, look at the Peru of today, and remember me with the firm belief that all the wrongs that I have had to live through at the end of my life, were worth the effort.”
