Modi Praises Trump in Houston, LaRouche Organizers Evoke ‘Four Powers’ Potential

Sept. 23, 2019 (EIRNS)—Before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi lavishly praised President Donald Trump during a huge Indian-American rally in Houston, LaRouche Political Action Committee activists used two banners outside to evoke the promise of Lyndon LaRouche’s concept for “Four Powers”—United States, India, Russia and China—for a just, new world economic order. The activists raised people’s sights as they went into the stadium with two large banners, including “LaRouchePAC welcomes Prime Minister Modi and President Trump to Houston! U.S.-India Cooperation in Space. Together to the Moon!”

Modi took the stage at the “Shared Dreams, Bright Futures” event holding President Trump’s hand, and told the crowd, “This morning, we have a very special person with us.His name is familiar to every person on this planet ... the President of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump.” Modi continued, “Every time I have met him, he has been the same:  warm, friendly, accessible, energetic and full of wit.” He said Trump has “a passion for America ... and a strong resolve to make America great again. He has already made the American economy strong again.”

Speaking to tens of thousands of the 4.5 million Indian-Americans, most of whom had not voted for Trump in 2016, the Prime Minister’s support was clear. He took the words in Hindi he used for his own campaign slogan, “Abki Baar Modi Sarkar” (“Now it’s Modi’s turn”), and told the huge crowd, “Abki Baar Trump Sarkar.” And having invited Trump to Houston for the rally, the Prime Minister then invited him to visit India with his family.

Modi also spoke of the growing synergy of India and the United States. He thanked Republicans and Democrats, such as Democratic Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) number-two Democrat in the House, for attending.

Modi observed how far India has come: It took 70 years to achieve 55% rural connectivity; within five years, it was 96%, including a 7.5% rate of growth, he said. Modi said Indians are known for their patience, but, “Now we are impatient. ... Today the buzzword in India is ‘development.’  The greatest model in India today is collective efforts, inclusive growth. Today, the biggest policy in India is public participation. Today, the strongest sentiment among Indians is the resolve to attain. And today, India’s greatest resolve is the creation of a new India.”
