Trump Charges Britain, Australia, Italy and Obama Administration with Investigating His Campaign
Oct. 5, 2019 (EIRNS)—Speaking Oct. 4 at the White House, before departing for Maryland events, President Donald Trump was bombarded with questions about his wanting an investigation of the Bidens in Ukraine. He repeatedly stressed that the issue involve investigating corruption, not playing politics. At one point, he parried a question about “investigations” from NBC reporter Kelly O’Donnell, to state emphatically: “Just so you know, I was investigated. Okay? Me, me. In my campaign.” He said. “I ran. I won. I was investigated—you won’t say that, will you? I was investigated. I was investigated, and they think it could’ve been by U.K., they think it could’ve been by Australia, they think it could’ve been by Italy. So when you get down to it, I was investigated.”
When O’Donnell then interposed the question, “So did you discuss it [being investigated] with the United Kingdom, sir?” Trump continued, “—by the Obama Administration.”
O’Donnell again asked, “Did you discuss it?” Trump replied, “—by the Obama Administration, I was investigated.”
