Russia Responds to President Trump on Getting U.S. Troops Out of Syria

Oct. 7, 2019 (EIRNS)—Following President Donald Trump’s statement on getting all U.S. troops out of Syria today, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced, “Syria’s territorial integrity must be preserved,” Reuters reported.

Peskov told reporters that Moscow was aware that Turkey shared Russia’s position on Syria’s territorial integrity. Peskov added, “We hope that our Turkish colleagues would stick to this position in all situations,” Reuters reported. Peskov then reiterated Moscow’s stance that all foreign military forces “with illegal presence” should leave Syria.
