Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China Created To Oppose P.R.C.

June 5, 2020 (EIRNS)—The British Empire’s latest operation against China (and against cooperation with China) appeared, with a group of various nations’ lawmakers launched what they call the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC). Their founding statement opens: “Developing a coherent response to the rise of the People’s Republic of China as led by the Chinese Communist Party is a defining challenge for the world’s democratic states. This challenge will outlast individual governments and administrations; its scope transcends party politics and traditional divides between foreign and domestic policy.”

“The Chinese Communist Party repeatedly and explicitly states its intention to expand its global influence. As a direct result, democratic values and practices have come under increasing pressure,” they fret. The group, which includes eight parliamentarians from the

“Five Eyes” countries—defined by the intelligence agencies of the four British Empire countries of U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States—among its 20 co-chairs, intends to coordinate directly, on a supranational basis, to create anti-China policies “that will persist through changes in individual governments and administrations.”

The single news item posted on the website gives some idea of what they have in store. It is a statement by Lord Chris Patten, the last British Governor of Hong Kong, decrying China’s long-overdue implementation of a national security law there. The statement includes the signatures of over 800 parliamentarians, although their list—of which the U.K. has, by far, the most signers—also includes Bill Browder! Among the U.S. luminaries are Samantha Power, the former U.S. Ambassador to the UN, and IPAC co-chairs Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)and Bob Menendez (D-NJ), two of the most fervently anti-China politicians in the U.S.
