Newsweek Covers Roger Stone’s Appearance on LaRouchePAC Video Panel

Aug. 2, 2020 (EIRNS)—Newsweek covered Roger Stone’s appearance on the Aug. 1 LaRouchePAC broadcast symposium, under the headline “Roger Stone Says Donald Trump Should Use Presidential Power To Control Debates.” The article identifies Stone’s remarks as made during an online LaRouchePAC panel titled “How To Stop the Ongoing Coup Against the Constitution and the Presidency.”

As indicated by the headline, the Newsweek leads with Stone’s remarks on the stacked nature of the planned presidential debates and then gratuitously throws in media allegations that Trump will use the debates to repeat lies against Biden as he allegedly did with Hillary Clinton. The article does quote Stone’s remarks on the need to re-elect the President to avoid a plunge into globalism, and reports on his charges that the prosecution against him was a conspiracy by those who would not accept the Trump victory over Clinton.

On the question of Lyndon LaRouche, the article states that “He [Stone] compared himself to fringe presidential candidate and conspiracy theorist Lyndon LaRouche. LaRouche was jailed for fraud in 1989, though Stone said that LaRouche’s jailing was due to offending then-President George H.W. Bush.” It then quotes Stone:

“Lyndon LaRouche was really prosecuted because he irritated the Bushes, because he contradicted them in public. And he did so during the New Hampshire primary. And he did so with great effect. I can tell you now that he and his supporters worked very closely with Ronald Reagan’s campaign, those I was involved in, because we both had a mutual distrust of the Bushes.”

But Newsweek managed to neglect any mention of Mueller’s lying involvement in the prosecution of LaRouche.

LaRouchePAC is characterized by Newsweek as follows at the end of the article ; “LaRouchePAC is a political action committee founded in support of LaRouche. Last year, a member of LaRouchePAC confronted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) at a town hall, suggesting that people eat babies to avoid the climate crisis.”

No mention is made of William Binney or the other panelists or of Binney’s evidence proving that Russiagate was a hoax and exposing the corrupt nature of the prosecution of Stone.
