Washington Times Covers LaRouche and Stone

Aug. 3, 2020 (EIRNS)—On Aug. 1, Andrew Blake wrote in the Washington Times an article titled “Stone: Trump Campaign Is ‘Outgunned and Outmanned,’ ” in which Stone says Trump should use his power to “ ‘control what debates are ultimately heard by the American people,” acknowledging that Stone said this “during an online discussion organized by a political action committee devoted to promoting the ideas of late conspiracy theorist [sic] Lyndon LaRouche.”

“ ‘Everything depends on this November. We are outgunned and outmanned, but I have great confidence in the President’s skills as a communicator and as a campaigner.... I hope he does not agree to the debate schedule as put forward by the Presidential Commission on Debates, which is not appointed by the President, is not a commission, and is not about debates,’ said Stone. ‘I think the President can command how and when, and under what format he debates, and he should use that power to control the dialogue on debates and control what debates are ultimately heard by the American people.’ ”

The paper states that the Commission on Presidential Debates has scheduled a debate between Trump and Biden for Sept. 29 in Cleveland, followed by a debate in Miami, on Oct. 15 and a debate in Nashville, on Oct. 22. They plan a debate between the vice-presidential candidates in Salt Lake City on Oct. 7.

An article in Newsweek Aug. 1, quoting Stone, said, “He compared himself to fringe presidential candidate and conspiracy theorist [sic] Lyndon LaRouche: ‘Lyndon LaRouche was really prosecuted because he irritated the Bushes; because he contradicted them in public. And he did so during the New Hampshire primary. And he did so with great effect. I can tell you now that he and his supporters worked very closely with Ronald Reagan’s campaign, those I was involved in, because we both had a mutual distrust of the Bushes.’ ”
