Pelosi Doesn’t Rule Out Impeachment To Prevent Trump from Filling Supreme Court Vacancy

Sept. 20, 2020 (EIRNS)—ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, interviewing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, asked her whether she would act to prevent President Donald Trump from installing a new Supreme Court Justice if he were to lose the election. He asked whether she would consider impeaching President Trump or Attorney General Barr to jam up the Senate and prevent it from acting on Trump’s nomination. Pelosi responded that “we have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now.”

Asked again whether there were any arrows (such as impeachment) that she would rule out, Pelosi said that “We take an oath to defend the Constitution.... We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people. When we weigh the equities, protecting our democracy requires us to use every arrow in our quiver.”

Apparently, in this Nancy-from-Wonderland world, impeaching the President of the United States for taking the manifestly Constitutional action of nominating a Justice to the Supreme Court is a form of “protecting our democracy” and “defending the Constitution.”

This is in keeping with the color revolution redefinition of terms, often to mean their opposites. In this case, “democracy” means rule by the people, but only those who have the approved opinions, since clearly everyone who doesn’t hold those approved views has come to their conclusions because of the man to whom, according to Pelosi, all roads lead: Putin!

Thinking of Nancy Pelosi’s misuse of language, Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass comes to mind:
