British Empire Gears Up To Turn the United States into Belarus
Sept. 24, 2020 (EIRNS)—The pre-election “air space” over the United States is seeing provocations not unlike those over the Black Sea or the Taiwan Strait—and the war and coup escalations are being pushed by the same British imperial interests.
Consider the tweet posed yesterday by Mitt Romney, in which he openly compared a Trump victory to Belarus, where a full-fledged attempt at color revolution is underway. Romney responded to the press fabrication that “Trump won’t commit to peaceful transfer of power if he loses,” as AP chose to spin the story, quoting a tweet from Romney as follows: “Fundamental to democracy is the peaceful transition of power; without that, there is Belarus. Any suggestion that a president might not respect this Constitutional guarantee is both unthinkable and unacceptable.”
Joe Biden’s campaign also put out a statement in response to comments that Trump had actually never made, tweaking their earlier demand for the military to escort Trump out of the White House: “The American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.”
CNN likewise waxed eloquent about how “President Donald Trump on Wednesday would not commit to providing a peaceful transition of power after Election Day,” and raising an alarm over “his refusal to guarantee a violence-free transition.” All of which makes you wonder what the President actually said.
At a press conference yesterday, Trump was asked if he would commit to a “peaceful” transfer of power, to which he replied:
“We’re going to have to see what happens. You know that I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster.... You’ll have a very peaceful—there won’t be a transfer, frankly; there’ll be a continuation. The ballots are out of control, you know it. And you know who knows it better than anybody else? The Democrats know it better than anybody else.”
At a White House meeting on Sept. 23 with state attorneys general, Trump elaborated: “What’s going on with balloting will prove to be one of the great catastrophes in the history of our country, even beyond elections... This is going to be one of the great catastrophes and one of the great embarrassments in the history of our country.”
In its coverage, AP admitted that there is a difference between states that allow mail-in ballots and those who request it, and the mass mailings to all registered voters that the Democratic Party is implementing, and that Trump’s opposition is to the latter. But they dismiss the charge that there could be significant fraud that could affect the election, because the four states newly adopting this procedure and who haven’t “had time to ramp up their systems”—California, New Jersey, Nevada and Vermont—and Washington, D.C., are all going to go Democratic anyway (with the exception of Nevada which is a battleground state). In other words, don’t worry about voter fraud, because the Democrats are going to win those states in any case.
