Oil-State Democrats Reject Biden’s Wacko Remarks for Phasing Out Oil
Oct. 25, 2020 (EIRNS)—It was clear this was going to happen the second the words were out of Biden’s mouth during the last debate, saying he was for the prompt “reconversion”—i.e., annihilation—of the oil sector of the U.S. economy. Now a number of Democratic congressional candidates from the most affected states are protesting. For example, Democratic Representative Xochitl Torres Small, whose district includes portions of New Mexico’s oil-rich Permian basin, tweeted after the debate, “I disagree with VP Biden’s statement tonight,” saying the country should not “demonize a single industry.” Other Democrats are doing the same.
