CNN Guest Demands Trump Supporters Be ‘Deprogrammed’

Jan. 20 , 2021 (EIRNS)—Of course it had to be CNN that invited in a professional cult “deprogrammer” to suggest that all Trump followers are fanatic, brainwashed members of a cult who must be deprogrammed to become human again. So, according to this message, if you question the system, or don’t accept the status quo or identify with Trump’s message, you must be nuts.

Yesterday, CNN’s Alisyn Camerota interviewed Steven Hassan, lavishing praise on him as author of The Cult of Trump: A Leading Cult Expert Explains How the President Uses Mind Control, to discuss how Trump followers have been brainwashed and need to be deprogrammed. As reported by RT, Hassan, a former member of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon cult, said—over video clips of the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol—that Trump devotees had been “deceptively recruited by an authoritarian political cult” and undergone a “radical personality change” psychologically diagnosable as “disassociated disorder.” Cult leaders use control of behavior, information, thought and emotion to “create a new identity that’s dependent and obedient,” Hassan said. “The bottom line is all of America needs deprogramming because we’ve all been negatively influenced by Donald Trump.”
