Putin-Macron Call for De-escalating the ‘Migrant’ Crisis at the Polish Border.

Nov. 16, 2021 (EIRNS)—French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian Vladimir Putin on Nov. 15 held an unusually long, 1-hour-45-minute telephone discussion, which dealt with the “migrant” conflict at the Belarus-Polish border, but also with other issues such as Ukraine and the recent gathering in Paris on the Libyan crisis.

Concerning the Belarus-Polish conflict, the Elysée press release states that “the two leaders agreed to work together to de-escalate the migration crisis, to prevent increased tensions over energy issues, and to involve the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in providing humanitarian assistance.”

The Elysée communiqué also states that Macron “thanked Russia for its constructive participation in the Nov. 12 international conference on Libya. The two heads of state agreed to work closely together on the follow-up of its results and on the organization of elections and the departure of foreign mercenaries.”
