Fauci Tells Sunday Talk Show, It’s Science That Is Under Attack

Nov. 29, 2021 (EIRNS)—In remarks to CBS’s “Face the Nation” show yesterday, Dr. Anthony Fauci of the NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) responded to a question about the many threats he continues to receive. He described them as noise, and then explained:

“So it’s easy to criticize, but they’re really criticizing science because I represent science. That’s dangerous. To me, that’s more dangerous than the slings and the arrows that get thrown at me,” he continued. “I’m not going to be around here forever, but science is going to be here forever. And if you damage science, you are doing something very detrimental to society long after I leave. And that’s what I worry about.”

Fauci, like most competent authorities worldwide, is pushing for more people to be vaccinated. “If ever there was a reason for unvaccinated people to get vaccinated and for those who have been vaccinated, when your time comes up, to go and get a booster shot.” Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health in the United States, told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that it is too early to know for sure about Omicron, but “I do think it’s more contagious when you look at how rapidly it spread through multiple districts in South Africa. It has the earmarks therefore of being particularly likely to spread from one person to another. ... What we don’t know is whether it can compete with delta.”
