Kremlin Aide Ushakov Affirms Putin-Biden Virtual Talks Are Solid

Dec. 3, 2021 (EIRNS)—This morning, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the Putin-Biden summit will be a video conference. Later in the day, President Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov said that any talks with Biden would take place after Putin travels to India on Dec. 6. “We have a concrete date and time for this video conference. I think it’s better to wait for final agreement from the Americans. But this meeting in the format of a video conference is being fairly actively prepared,” he was quoted by Reuters as saying.

He said, “I think that the Russian President will discuss this issue in the course of his upcoming contact with President Biden,” referring to getting security guarantees prohibiting any further NATO expansion. He said, “But it is better to wait until all its parameters are agreed with the U.S. side and then we will be able to announce it officially,” TASS quoted him.
