Kyiv Officials Say There Will Be No Peace Treaty with Russia

May 3, 2022 (EIRNS)—The Kyiv regime apparently feels that it has enough support from NATO and beyond that it no longer needs to worry about peace negotiations with Russia. “With Russia we can only sign an act of its capitulation. The sooner they do it, the better it will be for their country,” Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council chief Oleksiy Danilov said in a TV interview, reported RT. He said earlier in the interview that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office handles the talks and not the NSDC. “We have our own views. The President knows my stance on the issue,” he said. He added that he believes Zelenskyy will not violate Ukraine’s constitution (2014 coup version), which guarantees the country’s territorial integrity and aspirations to join NATO.

Zelenskyy advisor Oleksiy Arestovych brought up Danilov’s remarks during a chat on YouTube, the RT report continues. “The statement is very simple: There will be no peace treaty with Russia. There will only be the capitulation of the Russian Federation,” Arestovych said. Asked whether Danilov had been authorized to make such statements, Arestovych replied: “He doesn’t just make statements like that. He’s an official of the highest rank. It’s a completely new reality.”

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, commented on his Telegram channel this morning that “Zelenskyy does not need any peace treaty. For him, peace is the end.” TASS quoted Medvedev that: “Zelenskyy in the future will keep begging the West for money and weapons, trying to prove he is still in the game, that he is the hope of the liberal world, that he is the last stronghold of European democracy, which a bear in a cotton-padded jacket wants to tear apart.” He further said that Zelenskyy would “imitate concern for Ukrainians, periodically positioning them as a human shield against the Bandera followers,” referring to the neo-Nazi followers of Stepan Bandera, who committed mass murder and fought on behalf of the Nazis in World War II.
