Putin To Address the ‘Systemic Storm’ of Western Finances and Economy

June 14, 2022 (EIRNS)—Russian President Vladimir Putin will address the impact that anti-Russian sanctions have had on energy prices and the global food crisis, announced Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Putin will speak at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 17. The 25th session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place on June 15-18.

Peskov’s announcement appeared today as part of an interview with TASS. He stated: “We are seeing how all these restrictions and sanctions imposed [against Russia] are fueling up prices in the energy, food, and other sectors. We can see that the mistakes made by many countries are starting to manifest themselves in the evolving food crisis.”

Then, Peskov was emphatic—and TASS stressed that he spoke authoritatively—that Putin’s speech “will be extremely important,” and will be as announced. He then underlined: “Economies were taken hostage by politics, and politicians in many countries made a colossal number of mistakes amid the coronavirus.” An “ideal systemic storm” has been created. “The mistakes have been aggravated by the economic war being waged on Russia. And Russia’s too large a country for the [economic] war not to boomerang” back on those unfriendly countries.
