Russian Embassy Slams U.S. for Encouraging Neo-Nazis In Ukraine, Ignoring Them In Argentina and at Home
Sept. 3, 2022 (EIRNS)—In a comment posted to its Telegram page yesterday, and also covered by TASS, the Russian Embassy in Washington scathingly denounced the U.S. government’s hypocrisy in encouraging neo-Nazi crimes in Ukraine, while closing its eyes to the fact that on Sept. 1, an admirer of Ukraine’s fascist Azov Battalion, one Fernando Sabag Montiel, made an attempt on the life of Argentine Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner which fortunately failed.
The State Department loudly attacked that failed assassination attempt, condemning violence and hate “everywhere,” but as the Russian Federation embassy noted “However it’s obvious that American diplomats intentionally turn a blind eye to the extreme beliefs of the alleged criminal,” whose arms were tattooed with the Azov Battalion’s “Black Sun” symbol (Schwarze Sonne or sonnenrad) and swastika. The embassy then pointedly added that its American counterparts have also conveniently forgotten “the shooter, accused of killing 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket in May 2022, had the same tattoos.”
“Very concise declarations regarding the blatant manifestation of radicalism in Buenos Aires show that Washington is not willing to draw inconvenient conclusions,” the embassy charged. Argentine media have revealed that aside from his tattoos, Sabag’s cell phone was filled with pictures of neo-Nazi and pro-Hitler groups, and that his Facebook page also included many “likes” for known neo-Nazi organizations. Presumably, the U.S. State Department monitors the Argentine press.
So, the Russian embassy concluded, “A question arises: how many more people around the world must be affected by the actions of Nazi ideology supporters before the US realizes its dangers and stops condoning the nationalists’ crimes. That is exactly what the US is doing in Ukraine where the Kiev regime fighters continue to intentionally exterminate the civilian population.”
