Pope Says We Are Already in a World War
Dec. 19, 2022 (EIRNS)—Pope Francis gave a lengthy exclusive interview to ABC newspaper of Madrid last Tuesday, which was published on Dec. 18. Most of the media wires emphasize the Pope’s comments that he signed a resignation letter the day he assumed the Papacy, lest he become “medically incapacitated.” But he also had comments on Ukraine, as reported by TASS:
“Now [Ukrainian President] Volodymyr Zelenskyy is sending one of his religious advisers to me for the third time,” the pontiff reported, “I’m in touch, accepting, helping.” “I don’t see the end [of the conflict] in the short term, because this is a world war,” he noted. “There are already several hands involved in the war,” Francis pointed out, “There are many interests.”
