Berlusconi Warns of Nuclear War, Ostracized by European Partners

Feb. 18, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—European People’s Party head Manfred Weber canceled an EPP meeting scheduled for June in Naples yesterday, because of Silvio Berlusconi’s recent statements on Ukraine. Berlusconi’s Forza Italia is a part of the EPP Group in the European Parliament.

Berlusconi reacted forcefully by warning against the danger of nuclear war and demanding a special EPP session to discuss it. “With the world on the verge of a nuclear war between Russia and the NATO countries, I am being criticized because I am asking that together with the support for Ukraine, which has always been shared and voted for by Forza Italia, a table be opened immediately to reach the peace,” he wrote on social media.

“This is a duty for a party like the EPP. I believe that the issue can no longer be postponed and I ask that it be placed immediately on the agenda in EPP meetings,” Berlusconi concluded.
