Germany’s Former SPD Chairman Asserts, ‘U.S. Is Not Interested in Peace’

March 26, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—Oskar Lafontaine, former chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, evidently has had enough of the U.S.’s treatment of Germany. In Focus, he stated: “The United States is not interested in peace. Their secretary of defense—whom I always call the secretary of war—said this himself. The United States is going to fight until Russia is not able to conduct such hostilities.”

Further, on the provocation of Russia by NATO’s eastward expansion, he was succinct: “No state wants to have a knife put to its throat.... It is unacceptable to place missiles on the border of a nuclear power. The United States should not do to others what they would not like to be done to them.”
