$877 Billion from the U.S. Government for the Military Industrial Financial Complex

April 26, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—According to a new report issued by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, or SIPRI, which maintains a database on military spending around the world, the U.S. government spent $877 billion on the military in 2022. They note that is almost 40% of total global military spending, and also more than ten times the amount the U.S. federal government spent on education ($76.4 billion).

It is important to recall that, in this day and age, the Military Industrial Complex is in reality the Military Industrial Financial Complex. The direct business beneficiaries of all the military spending are mega-defense contractors such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman. But the political beneficiary is the Anglo-American financial Establishment’s unipolar world order, that is kept in line by the deployment of those military capabilities. As even a cursory look at the boards of directors of the major U.S. defense contractors indicates, they are populated with top bankers and financial representatives of such groups as Blackstone, Carlyle Group, KKR, State Street Corporation, and others.
