Argentine President Cristina Fernández Requested in 2015, ‘Lula, Help Us Join the BRICS’

Sept. 3, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—In September 2015, then-President of Argentina Cristina Fernández de Kirchner addressed a rally (in Spanish) in Buenos Aires at which Brazil’s Lula was present, in which she stated:

“We are going to have to deepen the integration of the Latin American region, because that’s our place and our destiny. And we are also going to have to find new, alternative ways. Lula, you are going to have to be the ambassador for Argentina to join the BRICS, so that it won’t be the BRICS anymore but BRICSA. That is our place; and more emerging countries should join that BRICSA.”

Lula noticeably looked up to pay attention when Fernández de Kirchner made that statement, and then applauded.
