Iranian and Hezbollah Officials Met Oct. 14; Iranian Message at UN?
Oct. 15, 2023, (EIRNS)—Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told the press on Oct. 14 in Beirut that he had met on Oct. 13 with Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, according to AP. AP quoted Amir-Abdollahian as saying: “I know about the scenarios that Hezbollah has put in place. Any step the resistance (Hezbollah) will take will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity.” Amir-Abdollahian added: “I want to warn the war criminals and those who support this entity before it’s too late to stop the crimes against civilians in Gaza, because it might be too late in few hours.”
The Axios news site reported yesterday that Amir-Abdollahian also used an Oct. 14 meeting with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland that if the Israeli military operation continues—and especially if Israel follows through on its promise of a ground offensive in Gaza—Iran will have to respond. Axios’ report cited two diplomatic sources who claimed knowledge of the matter.
