LaRouche Leads Democrats in
Itemized Individual Contributions
Feb. 28, 2004 (EIRNS)—This release was issued today by the candidate's Presidential campaign committee, LaRouche in 2004.
Democratic Presidential pre-candidate Lyndon LaRouche now leads all the remaining Democratic Presidential candidates, in the cumulative number of individual itemized contributions to his campaign, as measured by the Federal Election Commission. This figure dramatically underscores the fact that LaRouche has a depth and breadth of popular support among ordinary citizens, far beyond his rivals. The FEC defines an "itemized individual contribution" as a contribution by a person who has given more than $200 to a campaign.
The sharp contrast between this reality, and both the near-total lack of coverage of LaRouche's campaign in the major media, and the suppression of his vote, should raise sharp questions about corruption within the media, and the Democratic National Committee.
As of the FEC's February 2004 report, LaRouche had 36,281 cumulative itemized contributions, as compared to 25,899 for John Kerry, the second ranking candidate, and respectively less for John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, and Al Sharpton. LaRouche comes in third in overall funds raised, with $6.735 million.
Of interest as well, is the fact that LaRouche leads all of the other candidates in individual itemized contributions in four out of the 8 "Super Tuesday" states, specifically California, Maryland, Ohio, and Vermont.
Speaking to an audience in Southern California Feb. 26, LaRouche attributed his broad popular support to the fact that he is the one candidate who is addressing reality, as opposed to the DNC-approved candidates. "They have no relationship to reality," LaRouche said, "And that is why we have the largest real support, in numbers, from within the U.S. population. Not from people who go to buy a ticket to the grandstand, and cheer for the gladiators slaughtering each other below—that's what this election has been so far."
