PRESS RELEASE

LaRouche Jan. 5 Webcast To Address the
Deadly Crisis in International Relations

Dec. 21, 2004 (EIRNS)—This release was issued today by the Lyndon LaRouche Political Action Committee.

On Jan. 5, 2005, Lyndon LaRouche, former candidate for the 2004 Democratic Party Presidential nomination, and the founder of LaRouche PAC, which aggressively campaigned for the election of John Kerry and John Edwards on Nov. 2, will be delivering an international webcast address on the subject: "The Deadly Crisis in International Relations."

LaRouche's presentation, to be addressed to a Washington audience, and broadcast over the Internet (at www.larouchepac.com), will take place on the eve of a Joint Session of the U.S. Congress, convened to ratify the Electoral College vote, in an election as deeply scarred by voter suppression and other irregularities as the 2000 election. In an unprecedented action, Electors in Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine, all passed resolutions calling on the U.S. Congress to thoroughly investigate the voting irregularities, many of which constitute Federal felony crimes under the Voting Rights Act and other Federal Civil Rights statutes.

The fact that millions of Americans have zero confidence that they know the outcome of the Nov. 2, 2004 elections, is but one feature of the crisis in international relations that LaRouche will address on Jan. 5.

The global situation is more broadly characterized by:

  • An accelerating collapse of the U.S. dollar, which actually represents the onrush of a global collapse of the entire post-Bretton Woods financial and monetary system;

  • A deepening quagmire for the United States in Iraq, where the insurgency grows by the hour, and is fueled by every flawed counterinsurgency action taken by the American forces;

  • A general failure of leadership in Western Europe, and most other world capitals, at the same time that the center of gravity of the world economy shifts rapidly toward Asia, particularly towards China and India.

  • A U.S. President, who is, every day, more disconnected from reality, and who, in his self-delusion that he has a personal mandate from God, is pursuing the complete destruction of the U.S. Social Security system, the last vestige of the Franklin Delano Roosevelt revival of the General Welfare clause of the U.S. Constitution. In this madness, Bush is pursuing precisely the policies of the Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet—employing the very people who looted the Chilean population's retirement funds to the benefit of foreign financial institutions.

In a series of recent policy papers, LaRouche has spelled out his vision for a new Treaty of Westphalia, to deal with the global threats of world war and depression.

In this moment of grave global crisis and uncertainty, LaRouche's voice is vitally important. The webcast will begin at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
