Kosovo Push for Independence
Is Reminiscent of the
Guns of August in 1914

July 22, 2007 (EIRNS)—This release was issued today by the Lyndon LaRouche Political Action Committee.

This is the comment that Lyndon LaRouche made after hearing that Kosovo's prime minister, Agim Ceku, has proposed Nov. 28—an Albanian national holiday—as a date for declaring independence. According to the Financial Times, Ceku and Kosovo's president Fatmir Seidiu said they would present U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice with this proposal when they come to Washington on Monday.

Ceku also said Kosovo's parliament would discuss the details of the declaration next week. Ceku said Kosovo's government would invite NATO's peacekeeping troops to stay and ask the EU to implement a supervisory mission.

Lyndon LaRouche identified these developments as a British move. The Nov. 28 date is unimportant. What is important is that mid-August is approaching, and mid- to late-August is the period when the last two world wars were launched in 1914 and 1939. Both wars can be traced to the British-orchestrated firing of Bismarck as the Chancellor of Germany. After Bismarck was removed, the way was cleared for using a Balkan war in order to create indirectly a conflict between Germany and Russia, which Bismarck's pro-American system policies had prevented. The launching of the Balkan war was the beginning of World War I and led to World War II, which was launched with the Czech and Polish cases by Hitler.
