PRESS RELEASE
It's LaRouche vs. Barney Frank Over Foreclosures in Louisville
May 6, 2008 (EIRNS)—This release was issued today by the Lyndon LaRouche Political Action Committee (LPAC).
In the city of Louisville, Kentucky, the Homeowners and Bank Protection Act (HBPA) had been tabled by a committee. When it came up for testimony yesterday, one councilman had an alternative proposal—the incompetent Barney Frank bill. The five supporters of the HBPA were stunned, and were denied a chance to testify, as the debate on the two competing resolutions was been pushed back for two weeks.
In Michigan, on the other hand, support for the HBPA is spreading through self-activation. In one case, the city of Oak Park passed the (earlier version) of the HBPA, without LPAC activists ever having introduced or organized for it. The resolution had been passed almost a month ago, and LPAC activists were only notified when a contact received a fax of the passed resolution (in Southfield, which has not yet passed it), and recognized it as an LPAC initiative.
In the city of New Haven Connecticut, the HBPA has been introduced, it is waiting for committee assignment.
